Research gives you clear idea to approach how to approach your target audience. He gave an example of Harley Davidson, how research help ou to meet the audiences’ expectation in an effective manner.

This is a fantastic plan; we are executing this plan in PR writing class not only just a part of academics but also for society and to gain practical knowledge.

IKEA PR Plan

















We get many assignments, exams, and blog posts to do. But this project work was really good, because when you get practical work to do and can come up with more ideas. IKEA assignment is a good practical experience which I learned from it.


There was research which I found relevant data from internet and other friends. IKEA is largest furniture retailer of the world and coming to Winnipeg. This is an interesting in itself. I evaluated the whole furniture industry situation. 

I assumed me as a communication officer of IKEA, and completed this plan as a real plan not only for grades but also to learn how to make a successful public relation plan. I followed the plan format given by Samantha, which really helped me out to get everything on board in a better way. 



I also assumed myself as an entrepreneur and if I am going to start my own company how I will make a public relation plan. I adopted go, shake, and win the market policy in this plan. The main objective of plan was to promote the grand opening. Presence of  big Hollywood star Angelina Jolly, was a main idea to promote the event and majority of furniture stuff  bought by ladies, so more ladies will come to event.

Idea of promoting opening event through local media, social media buzz, and vehicle display are main tactics of this plan. I learned practical nuts and bolts of PR through this plan.

Twitter exercise is a fantastic exercise to learn about twitter because first time I'm on twitter. I participated in a chatting of Health Care Service Provider Marketing, this was a good exercise to learn and share about health care marketing. I learned how you participate in a twitter chatting and how to share your ideas and views with others. Furthermore, I learned that how new people participate in chatting practice and can implement these exercise in creative PR. In addition, I learned how we can do advocacy on twitter to build and maintain our company's image, lobbying also play role as a backbone to develop new market.  


When I participated in that chat, they welcomed everybody in that chat that was a excellent opening and greeting to new kids on the block. Everybody shared his or her opinion in a decent and majestic way. New people, including me shared ideas and gain knowledge about twitter. But I was surprised that chat only last for 30 minutes. 





Stop and Think About Creative Ideas

I want to learn about advocacy and creative ideas about twitter because advocacy enables the marketer to develop the customer base in a positive way. Advocacy helps to maintain the image of company. There are many creative ways to convince target audience to follow you on twitter. Twitter is the second largest social networking website on earth and social media is capable enough to bring down the government overnight.

Research is the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.
Public Relations research is the way to find out the fact about customer understanding, response to communication channel, and effectiveness of PR communication channels or PR campaign. Just imagine how successful your plan will be if you don’t know about customers?

To stay in touch with your customers you need appropriate communication channel. It is rightly said that communication must be at the level of client. But how will you come to know which channel or campaign is best to reach out target audience. Here research helps you out to know better about target audience.


Why Research?

To make creative plans, research works as core base. Does not matter in which business or sector you are, you need ground research to make smart marketing and PR Plan. It is always a core mantra of business to keep the customers viewpoint into account.
A marketer always needs to know about public opinion, perception, attitude, and motivational factors to design better communication plan.  Once you come to know about your target audience you can deliver them better value. Research is not only useful for one of the business perspective but also for overall business growth.

Make Your Research Interesting

When you conduct research, it should be interesting enough, so everybody can reply your questions conveniently. When you conduct any research there should be something for your interviewee, because if there is something for them the will reply quickly and without any biasness. Such as, DEC (The University of Winnipeg) conduct an online research on students; they kept prize of Apple IPod for winner.
